Established in 1983, Allerton Damp Proofing was founded as a small family company, but today we have grown to be Yorkshire’s premier provider of property maintenance services. We’re regarded as industry leaders in the fields of damp proofing Yorkshire and timber preservation, though we have many other fields of expertise. Our work necessarily involves the laying of new timber flooring, other decorative timber goods such as skirting boards and architraves, specialist plastering, skimming, the adding of specialist insulation to walls, floors and ceilings in addition to pre-purchase damp proofing and timber condition surveys.

The Property Care Association and damp proofing Yorkshire
The Property Care Association (PCA) is the trade body with responsibility for the damp proofing Yorkshire and timber preservation industry. Only reputable providers are registered members of the PCA; we have been full members of the PCA since it was founded in 2003. Our affiliation with the PCA is our most important accreditation, worthy of a special mention here.
The PCA provides training and qualifications to members and tradesmen in the damp proofing and timber preservation industry. Our surveyors all have the Certified Surveyor in Remedial Treatments (CSRT) qualification, the most recognised qualification in our industry for remedial surveying. With this, they can carry out specialist surveys, including pre-purchase surveys for home purchase and mortgage purposes. Our Damp Proofing Technicians (DPTs) hold the PCA’s Qualified Technician certificate, which is issued following a rigorous course of study at the PCA’s headquarters in Cambridgeshire.
